Garden bloggers around the world posted their blooming plant photos on Saturday for Garden Bloggers’ Bloom Day, hosted by Carol at May Dreams Gardens.
I’m not only a day late and a dollar short, I’m TWO days late. But I think you’ll enjoy the blooms anyway! I have 31 photos, but many of these are single plants or just a few blooms. The first photo is my little Peach tree.
That’s all folks! The blooms are wonderful, and next is a layer of tiny little green leaves that are peeking up in various beds, the fruits of my efforts last year that, thanks to a mild winter for us here in Austin, have decided to grace us with their presence again. Even some plants that are normally annuals are coming back, like Impatiens and Begonias. More on them later as they get big enough to identify clearly in photos.
Happy bloom day!
You’ve got such a lovely assortment of blooms there! The one you have labeled a Pansy…are you sure? I’ve not seen any like that. But sometimes different species look very different from their cousins.
I can’t wait until I have blooms of all colors like you do!
Kylee – thanks for the comments. Oops – you are so right, that is a petunia! Thanks for catching that. I’ll change it right now.
Diana, you have lots of blooms. WOW It just makes me chomp at the bit wanting to have more, more, more!!!!!
Lisa – I know what you mean about wanting more. I keep coveting people’s orchids and I simply cannot grow them. But I really WANT them!
I’m trying on seedling attempt #2 with some tomatoes – they are over an inch tall – getting leggy – under glass and in the window. Now what — any advice?
You are right, I did enjoy seeing all these blooms, even a few days late! Thanks for sharing them!

Better to have posted late than to not have posted at all, right? It is wonderful to see all your flowers. When I saw the pictures of your Phlox, it made me realise how much I miss seeing this plant. Your peach tree has gorgeous blooms on it, as does the Variegated Meyers Lemon. Boy, I’d love to be able to grow one of those.
I think it’s wonderful that you are able to over-winter Bougainvillea outdoors. Would that I could do that too!!
Happy Bloom Day!
Sometimes it is nice to be a bit late to a party. So much in bloom! The peach blossom is lovely!
Diana: Glad you joined the fun for GBBD even a couple of days after… you have so many great blooming plants. I haven’t grown verbena in a few years but each time I see it lately I think it is calling out to me again… yours are lovely.

Kate – the phlox are lovely, but they will soon be sad a miserable because they really don’t like our heat. They are close to dead at the end of every summer. It’s amazing that they make it back in the Spring!
Layanee — Thanks – it’s a very cute little peach tree, but it isn’t producing peaches worth a darn. And I’m afraid I’ve left it on its own! Maybe it just needs to mature a little more…
Meems – That’s prairie verbena, and not the variety that I originally wanted, but I’m glad to have it because it’s native and tolerates the heat much better. I didn’t know how well it would come back since it only went in last year…. guess we’re going to find out!
Carol – thanks for peeking in! And, of course, for hosting!
What a colorful garden you must have, Diana! I’ve seen most of these plants in other people’s gardens at one time or another but have only seen lithodora at the nurseries – is it a shade plant? That blue is so lovely!
Annie at the Transplantable Rose
Hi Annie – the Lithodora is a new plant for me – I put it in about a month ago. It gets dappled sun and a fair amount of shade. I hear it will wither when the heat comes 🙁 but for now it’s happy – a nice, small understory plant. It will be even more protected when the lantana grows, so maybe it will survive. Cross your fingers!
