Nippers three …
Nippers three, saving mefrom overgrown trees, shrubs and vines
Nippers good, cutting woodhelping me, all the time
Nippers red, always wedto my hand, hip or behind
Nippers three, how lovelyyou make my garden shine!

An ode to pruning shears!! I love it Diana! And wish I still had my felco holster…it was ruined in an unmentionably messy poison ivy episode.
Annie at the Transplantable Rose
Well, anything to do with Poison Ivy is bound to be messy, Annie. Sorry about your holster. I just hope no one comments on the neglected state of my little tools. I am terrible about cleaning, sharpening and all those things. They are quite abused for as much as I appreciate them!
We can tell you really appreciate your flecos Diana even if they aren’t cleaned and sharpened. Love the poem.
Very cute.
Did I ever tell you that my husband used my Felcos as wire cutters? $52 pruners ruined! I just had to keep my mouth shut for a while cause there wasn’t anything nice I could say about that.
Now, I keep my pruners on the desk in my office with a “Do not touch” tag on them. Really.
Robin at Bumblebee
Lisa – I do love my pruners. And I never would have thought that I could use three different ones. Those tiny ones are great for deadheading.
Robin – too funny – your guys need a-watchin, huh? Those pruners are amazingly expensive, aren’t they? But they’re great so it’s a good investment.
Love this, Di … especially the “nippers red” verse! You sometimes downplay it, but you are really quite the creative writer, my friend!! 🙂
Kristen – Aw – that’s such a sweet thing to say. Thank you. It just hit me the other day how much I love them and rely on them and it popped into my little pin head!
