Well, it DID rain. Our fancy-schmancy, Christmas-gift rain gauge measured an official .14 of rain yesterday.
That’s something.
And, the temperatures dropped to 97 for the high, instead of 102, so, that’s something, too.
(I don’t mean to look a gift horse in the mouth, but honestly…it ain’t much. And it certainly ain’t enough.)
But, it’s all we got and I’m just going to say, “thank you,” and turn the sprinklers back on. (At night on my appointed day, mind you, because we are under water rationing as we are every summer.)
Did I mention that I’m ready for Fall?!
I got nada. Again. Today was my watering day too.
So sorry, Pam. We seem to get less out here than most of Austin, too. I am holding the line pretty well on the watering, though. I let the grass get very sad and to the brink of death before I water this summer. And I hand water a lot. But I enjoy that!
I watch the sky, too..We are having a hard time without rain but not like ya’ll! Sigh…gail
Diana, I was hoping the rain that made it here yesterday hit y’all first. My sympathies, truly. We had maybe 20 minutes of steady rain, which should mean I can get away without watering containers today. I’m still trying to figure out how it can rain here on MCOK and yet a spot by the mailbox stays dry. It’s very strange!
Gail – And to think last summer we wer practically drowning in rain! Go figure!
Cindy – I guess ours is not to question why, huh?! The day we got the rain I had to water the containers at the end of the day anyway, they just didn’t get enough to overcome the 100 degrees of broiling!
The weatherman said that it rained both north of Austin in Georgetown and down toward San Antonio, but the clouds fell apart over the main part of Austin! Fell apart – what a term.
Nada here in NW Austin.
Annie at the Transplantable Rose
Annie – Frustrating, isn’t it? Funny, when we first moved here we were so excited about the number of days of “sushine.” Little did we know that term meant drought and misery!
