You’d think this was Minnesota the way the weather acted tonight!
I shot this 10 minutes ago out the back door — this is my dark green patio!
Sleet loud enough to pelt the windows and howling winds can gusting through here tonight. (33 miles per hour!)
We also got about 1/10 th of an inch of rain – maybe some more moisture if you add in the sleet.
We sure need the water, but I could have done without the freeze damage only 4 days before the party.
How much you wanna bet all the lovely plants look like…well,… crap, tomorrow?
But, I have to say, it’s right on time. We always get our first good freeze the week before our Holiday Party.
I set my watch by it, so I guess it’s good to know that all is right with the world, even if it’s a little chilly for us here tonight!
Brrrr…..
Hey there 🙂 I’m about 300 miles north of you, as the crow flies. We got about 4 inches of snow today, and it got pretty cold last night when that cold front came through. Sounds like you are having a taste of it too. Drive careful.
Gracie
Gracie – YOU be careful with 4 inches of snow! You must be used to getting some as far north as you are, but this is pretty rare for us here. Frankly, if it’s going to be that cold anyway, I’d just as soon have some pretty snow to linger and look at for a while. Hope you can enjoy it a little.
Sleet pelted the windows here in northwest Austin tonight too. Totally bizarre, considering I was gardening in summer clothes this morning and still sweating while I worked.
Pam – now I have some snow and my sprinklers are on. I guess the thunderstorm and sleet had already ruined everything anyway! sigh…
I took one picture of the snow, and the really sad thing is that you can see how un-insulated my house is by the way there’s no snow within a foot of the foundation. But at least now I know where I can leave all of my tropicals in the ground! ;D
P.S. Your double pink brugmansia looks fabulous. How’s the fragrance?
Lori – I was so shocked that the snow came after the sleet and actually stayed! The brug didn’t smell when I sniffed it a few weeks ago…and now her blooms are all gone, but she has new growth all over the top! YEah!
Brrrr…., and now it’s hot and humid. Crazy!
